U.S.-based company Bioquark will attempt to resurrect a dead human using a specialized stem cell treatment, The Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

The company claims to have developed a series of stem cell injections that can reboot a dead brain. Bioquark plans to test its stem cell treatment on human subjects as early as this year.

Ira Pastor, Bioquark’s CEO, said that the idea for stem cell injections came from watching amphibians capable of regenerating much of their bodies. Bioquark will conduct human trials in an unidentified Latin American country in order to get around laws in the U.S. and other countries that require animal testing to be done first. The stem cell treatment could reverse “brain death.”

Bioquark tried testing the injections in India last year, but its plans were blocked by the Indian Council of Medical Research.
